Orex Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: REX) is a Canadian-based junior mineral exploration company with an impressive portfolio of large gold, silver, and copper exploration projects on renowned mineral trends in Sweden (Barsele Gold project), Mexico (Coneto and Los Crestones Silver-Gold Projects), and Canada (Jumping Josephine Gold-Silver Project, and Honeymoon Gold-Silver-Copper Project). Each project has impressive merits of its own; packaged together, the chance of Orex making the next big resource discovery increases dramatically. The Company's directors and management include industry professionals with a consistent track record of identifying and advancing successful mineral exploration projects. Our advanced-stage Barsele Gold Project is located near Storuman, Västerbottens Län, approx. 600 km north of Stockholm, Sweden. Barsele has a NI 43-101 Compliant Resource Estimate, dated November 30, 2012, (using 0.6 g/t Au cut-off) that defines on the Central-Avan-Skiråsen gold zones an Indicated Resource of 14.1 million tonnes grading 1.21 gold grams per tonne (g/t) or 547,000 contained ounces of gold. In addition, the study has estimated an Inferred Resource of 20.2 million tonnes grading 0.97 gold grams per tonne (g/t) or 627,000 contained ounces of gold. This represents a 43% increase in the Indicated Resources and a slight 3% decrease in the Inferred Resources from the previous February 11, 2011 resource estimate using the same cut-off grade. Our Coneto Silver-Gold Project is adjacent to the village of Coneto de Comonfort, centrally positioned within the "Mexican Silver Trend", approx. 100 km north of the city of Durango, Mexico. In February 2012, Orex signed an Association Agreement with Fresnillo PLC to explore the Coneto property managed by a joint technical committee. Fresnillo has recently completed the Phase II, 12,000 metres diamond drilling program of 31 holes. Total drilling to date is 17,000 metres in 52 holes on 12 target areas. Our Los Crestones Gold-Silver-Copper Project is an early-stage property in the state of Sinaloa, well situated in the gold-silver trend of Western Mexico. The 4,168 hectare property was acquired by Orex through its' merger with Astral Mining Corporation in February 2013. Orex has the right to earn 100% of the project by making staged cash payments to the local vendors. To date a single phase of drilling totalling 2,618.61m of HQ and NQ2 sized core has been completed. Best results from the 2011 drilling campaign include 5m (estimated 3.53m true width) averaging 39.1g/t gold, 93.3g/t silver and 2.13%copper. The drilling provided a very preliminary, first-pass test of three elongate, mineralized structures. Mineralized zones are typically silicified and therefore resistant to erosion relative to the surrounding rock. These silicified ribs or "Crestons" give the property its name. |
