Vancouver, B.C. - Orex Minerals Inc. - (REX: TSX-V)
is pleased to announce the mobilization of a diamond drilling rig for a 5,000-metre program on the Coneto Gold-Silver Project in Durango State, Mexico.
Major Drilling de Mexico S.A. de C.V., of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, has been contracted to provide drilling services for HQ size core, utilizing a UDR-200 rig.
Gary Cope, President of Orex, says; "We are very pleased with the surface exploration results to date for gold and silver at Coneto and look forward to drill testing. There are many promising targets on the Coneto property."
Surface exploration results were published in news releases dated 17 November 2009, 11 January and 17 March, 2010. Over 40 epithermal gold-silver vein structures have been identified at Coneto. The first target areas to be tested in the 5,000-metre Phase-I diamond drilling program will be in the Loma Verde, Durazno and Promontorio sectors.
Located in the Mesa Central on the eastern flank of the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains, Coneto is centrally positioned in the "Mexican Silver Trend". This silver trend, stretching from Guanajuato in the southeast, through the states of Zacatecas and Durango, hosts some of the World's largest silver deposits, including the Real de Angeles, Zacatecas, Fresnillo, La Preciosa, and La Pitarrilla mining camps.
Maps of the geochemical program can be found on the Orex website at the following address: www.orexminerals.com
On an unrelated matter, Orex has chosen to end its involvement in the exploration on the Santa Cruz Project and has returned the property to the original vendors.
